The big elements, we all know them to some extent. Perhaps not all people know each individual name and personality to each of Mother Nature's children, but the mention of her own name would certainly bring about some familiarity in the youngest of children.
The Big Elements were called as such by the smaller workers who drifted behind the scenes of a bigger picture, like the many threads within a tapestry. These immortal sprites did not bring about the elements though they may work with them.
In this particular case, there was Snowmiser and Jack Frost.
Snowmiser, many a age in the sprite's senior, was the embodiment

Set during 'The Day the Town Was Taken'

The loud screech of the metal walls echoed through the dusty, panic-filled roads of Fort Kerium as the city defenses kicked in. Long tendrils and cables shop out from hatches, thick metal doors slid shut with a decidedly final shut. The outside houses and buildings surrounding the main part of town were dragged across the desert by long metal arms until it seemed the whole place was closing in on itself like flower blooming in the opposite direction.

"Jee, Watcha lookin' at dere, Tex?"

Tex Hex's eyes opened after what seemed like an eternity. It was a cool, breeze-less night, the stillness of the dry desert spread around them was calming and quiet. Tex had been standing just outside of the Hexagon, lost in his thoughts from a very long time ago.
A very, very long time ago...
He'd been thinking of someone he'd once cared for very much, wondering what his life may have been like if he hadn't left; Something he'd done many times in the past decades.
Until Scuzz happened to interrupted with his odd curiosity.
In truth he hadn't really been looking at anything, but he hadn't been honest for more than twenty years, and he wasn't about to start now.
"Nothin', Scuzz. Just the stars." His voice was oddly flat and rather morbid, something the now coughing Scuzz had noticed. Now it wasn't as if the small outlaw cared; He wasn't some soft sissy like that man with the dolls he and a certain stuttering bot had seen in town.
But he was curious as to what was wrong with the stars that had made his boss so un-boss like.
He cocked his head and turned, standing beside Tex Hex as they stared quietly along the desert and up at the skies. A long silence followed.
His head still tilted to the left, Scuzz bit down on his cigar in thought.
"I don' see nothin."
"..."
A long sigh from the taller party followed.
Then, Scuzz spotted something of interest at last. He pointed a thick, clawed finger up at the sky, nudging Tex's leg to get his attention.
"Say," He broke off in a short cough before continuing, "Did ya see dat dere, Tex?"
Tex replied in a bored, exasperated tone. "What?"
"The sky's gone all purple. Don't see dat usually."
"Itsa solar cloud, Scuzz."
"Oh. Well it shouldn't be here botherin' us!" He shook his fist up at the starry sky, adding on:
"Get lost!"
Tex Hex couldn't help but chuckled inwardly at that. It seemed that not even the colour in the sky was safe from Scuzz's ridicule.
So they just watched the sky as fit grew darker, silently staring up at the heavens as the stars hovered above.
